There is a program for Police Officers, Teachers, Firefighters, and Paramedics that is called Good Neighbor Next Door. The program is through HUD and you can buy the house for half price. The listings come out on Fridays and you can bid on them until Tuesday at midnight. You find out if you got the home by noon on Wednesday.
